Belthanos, First Thorn of Kurnoth is herald of Kurnoth and foremost amongst the Kurnoth Hunters. It is his responsibility to lead the faithful of the fallen Hunter God on their eternal hunt against those who would harm Ghyran, for when the hunt ends is when Kurnoth would truly die.
Supposedly, on the day Kurnoth fell at the Battle of Tears, Belthanos sprouted from a tree struck by a bolt of jade fire. Ever since, he has led the Evergreen Hunt across Ghyran, marking his quarry and signalling the chase with his hunting horn.

Belthanos carries a long-handled Kurnoth Glaive as his primary weapon. Across his shoulders he wears his legendary, protective Mantle of Leaves, said to be a last gift from Kurnoth to his new herald. His most famous item, however, is his Kurnothi War-horn that signals to his fellow hunters that it is time to finally bring down the quarry. When the hunting horn is blown, jade runes flare to life along its length and what emerges is not a mere sound, but an echoing call that will resonate in the souls of hunter and prey until the hunt ends.
